In Lake Louise Kingmik dog sled tours offer trips ranging from a half hour introductory ride to a 1 1/2 - 2 hour foray to the Continental Divide. While the half hour trip is just a teaser, the Divide trip covers over 18 kilometers.
Guests have the opportunity to get to know the dogs, their guides, learn the basics of driving a team – and are encouraged to dive the team home!
The comfortable sleds can accommodate two adults and a small child, providing total weight does not exceed 400 pounds. For those of us who can be described as robust, we recommend separate sleds for a more enjoyable sledding experience.
Your sled has comfortable foam cushions and warm sleeping bags. However, please remember you must dress for the cold temperatures of -20 degrees Fahrenheit between December and February. A hat is essential, as is a neck warmer which will, if necessary, cover your face. Warm boots are highly recommended, especially for the Divide trip when you are driving the team home.
The dogs are really friendly and love taking you out! See for yourself!
